We are NUHW

We are the union. The co-workers who work with you every day caring for our patients. We know our hospitals. We know that we need a real voice in our workplace to take care of our patients and our families.

"What do I get by joining NUHW?"

We get the respect that comes from having a direct voice in decisions about wages, job security, and patient care. Management can’t make those decisions without us. We can better protect our jobs, negotiate for pay and benefits, and stand up for our patients.

NUHW was founded by union reformers and healthcare workers committed to building a strong union with workers in control. When you vote for NUHW, here’s what you’re voting for:

  • Unity: We believe that workers are stronger when we’re united, not divided by political power-grabs and intimidation by union officials. Unity comes from workers making decisions together.
  • Democracy: Workers control the union, choose the leaders, set the dues and make sure they’re used for our benefit.
  • Integrity: Workers negotiate directly for the best wages and patient care—leaders can’t make secret deals that trade away our rights. What you see is what you get.
